Getting Started with WPSubscription

Installing the Plugin

Getting WPSubscription up and running is straightforward. Head to your WordPress dashboard, navigate to Plugins → Add New, and search for WPSubscription. Click Install Now, then Activate.

Once activated, you’ll see a new WPSubscription menu in your sidebar. Make sure WooCommerce is installed and active — WPSubscription works on top of WooCommerce to add subscription functionality.

Creating Your First Subscription Product

Navigate to Products → Add New. Give your product a name, then in the Product Data section select “Simple Subscription” or “Variable Subscription” from the product type dropdown.

Set your price, choose a billing interval (daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly), and configure any free trial period you want to offer. You can create as many subscription products as you need.

Setting Up Payment Gateways

Connect Stripe or PayPal under WooCommerce → Settings → Payments. Both gateways support automatic recurring billing out of the box — no extra configuration needed for subscriptions.

WPSubscription also supports Paddle, Razorpay, and Mollie for international stores.

Managing Subscriptions

Once customers subscribe, you can manage all active subscriptions from WooCommerce → Subscriptions. View payment history, change billing dates, upgrade or downgrade plans, or cancel subscriptions with a single click.

Customers can also manage their own subscriptions from My Account → Subscriptions.

Next Steps

With the basics in place, explore features like split payments, early renewal, and custom renewal pricing. The documentation covers each feature in depth.
